APPI Announces Board of Trustees Election Results
Jan. 25, 2010 - The Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators (APPI) is pleased to announce that Jonathan Seltzer, MD, MBA, has been elected president-elect and Michael J. Koren, MD, FACC, has been elected secretary-treasurer of the APPI Board of Trustees for 2010. Elected to the board for first terms were Robert Dracker, MD, MHA, MBA, CPI, Amirtha (Amy) Naadimuthu, MD, CPI, and Samuel Simha, MD, FACOG, CPI. Meanwhile, Peter H. Rheinstein, MD, JD, MS, FAAFP, FCLM, has assumed the role of APPI president and chairman of the board for 2010, with Charles M. Alexander, MD, FACP, FACE, serving as immediate past president.

The Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators Announces Board of Trustees Election Results
Jan. 21, 2009 - The Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators (APPI) is pleased to announce that Peter H. Rheinstein, MD, JD, MS, FAAFP, FCLM has been elected President-Elect and Jonathan Seltzer, MD, MBA, MA, FACC has been elected Secretary-Treasurer of APPI for 2009. Charles M. Alexander, MD, FACP, FACE assumes the APPI presidency after serving as President-Elect last year. Also elected to the APPI Board of Trustees for first terms were Christopher P. Allen, MD, FRCA, FFPM, Michael J. Koren, MD, FACC, and Jay Udani, MD, CPI. These newly elected members join current members of the board: Greg Koski, PhD, CPI; Nadina Jose, MD, CPI; and Michael Markowitz, MD, MBA, MSPH. Read more (.pdf)

APPI Endorses Proposed Updates to Declaration of Helsinki
July 22, 2008 - The Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators (APPI) expresses its strong support for the 2008 draft revision of the World Medical Association (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki. The document was drafted by a WMA working group comprised of representatives from the Japan, Brazil, German, Swedish and South African Medical Associations, and is an update to the original declaration as adopted in 1964. April 28, 2008 - The Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators (APPI) honored three leaders for their contributions to medicine and research Saturday evening (April 26) at the APPI Awards Reception during the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) 2008 Global Conference & Exhibition in Boston. APPI Program Holds Opening Session at ACRP Global Conference
April 28, 2008 - The Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators (APPI) held its opening session Saturday (April 26) at the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) 2008 Global Conference & Exhibition in Boston. The APPI Program, a major part of the conference for the third straight year, includes workshops and sessions of special interest to physicians, the annual APPI Business Meeting and Policy Forum, an awards reception, and other events. APPI Joins Initiative to Transform Clinical Trials
